goodbye banzel

Goodbye Banzel. It has not been nice knowing you at all, and it pains me to think about the suffering you might have caused over the past two-and-three-quarter years as we—holding much hope—amped you up then painstakingly weaned you off. I hate long goodbyes, but at least I'll never see your sorry face again.

  1. Good fucking riddance. Banzel was a terrible nightmare for Sophie, and I'm hoping that weaning it will leave Calvin more comfortable.

  2. Yeah, I hope not having that in his system helps him out too. What is the significance of "blue moon"?

  3. Yeah, I really like it. Blue moon--name for the number of times I hope Calvin has seizures (not even "once in a blue moon") and name of my favorite beer that I will toast with when he is off Banzel. I have some in my fridge right now, in fact, so let me know when you want a virtual celebration. ;)

  4. Ohh! I was thinking that you were starting to wean off of it then because of your "long goodbyes comment." I have been weaning off of Vimpat for the last two months and still have a month to go :(

  5. That's awesome! Tonight marks 0 lamictal in our household. From 12 for so long, to 0. The wean and withdrawal just as we did with Keppra was tough, and this one is proving to be as well. But when they don't work, there is no point...
